If Taking Care of the Planet was a Job, Everyone Would be Millionaires
If Taking Care of the Planet was a Job, Everyone Would be Millionaires

For most of us, from the outset of life, we have had to scratch and scrape for everything that we have to help us survive. With everything around us changing constantly, creating convenience for some, but destroying life around the rest, there will come a point where the advantages that we have created will be our downfall. This applies to both the rich and poor alike. As jobs disappear and the sickness starts to take over our cities, it might be time for us to start looking elsewhere to ensure that our future will remain intact.
As more folk are quarantined to their homes and social distancing becomes the new practice for survival, those of us that are able should be looking towards nature as something to invest in for our future, to help aide in our salvation. Hydroponics to solar paneling, cleaning up our properties, gutters, and, eventually, the rest of our neighborhoods, would all be good places for us to dig in to. While we should be sanitizing our apartments, we should be sanitizing our planet as well. Not knowing where patient zero came from originally and the extent of this pandemic as the numbers slowly rise every day, why not do something that could help in it's reduction and future-proof our world so that we don't have to go through something like this again in the future.
We've already seen how not driving, not littering, and not being the usual disgusting folk that we are has help our planet. The air pollution that had once been so prominent in many places has dropped dramatically. Rivers and canals have become clearer than they have in decades, bringing with that wildlife that not seen in those areas emerging once again. The absence of certain technologies and humans alike have been the main contributor to this, so why not expand this concept? While this won't make us actual "millionaires", what it will do is enrich our future and enrich the lives of future generations with the examples that we can set right now so that they have a blueprint for how to survive in this new age.
The planet will rebound and give us more beauty and life than we have ever seen if we impose these simple measures of cleaning up our acts, right here and now. So make it a point, while distancing yourselves from others, to do something in your yard, or to pick up a piece of trash while out walking your pet. The health benefits will be astounding, from your own mental and physical, to the health of our quickly dying planet. And while the actual rich of this country can do more than just provide the poorer of us with some money to help us pay our bills in these trying times, the actuality of what will happen is that nothing will change for them once we return to normal and everything will change for us. The rich provide for the rich; the poor provide for their lives.
